ఎల్లారెడ్డి, ఆగస్టు 29, 2026: ఎల్లారెడ్డి నియోజకవర్గంలో బంజారా సమాజానికి ప్రత్యేకమైన తీజ్ పండుగ సంబరాలు ఘనంగా నిర్వహించేందుకు ఏర్పాట్లు జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఈ వేడుకల్లో ఎల్లారెడ్డి నియోజకవర్గ ఎమ్మెల్యే శ్రీ మదన్ మోహన్ పాల్గొననున్నారు.
ఆగస్టు 30, ఆదివారం ఉదయం 11 గంటల నుంచి ఎమ్మెల్యే మదన్ మోహన్ ఎల్లారెడ్డి టౌన్లోని బంజారా ఫంక్షన్ హాల్లో నిర్వహించే తీజ్ పండుగ వేడుకల్లో పాల్గొంటారు. అనంతరం లింగంపేట్ టౌన్లో జరిగే తీజ్ పండుగ సంబరాల్లో కూడా పాల్గొని బంజారా సమాజ సభ్యులు, మహిళలు, యువతతో కలిసి వేడుకల్లో పాల్గొననున్నారు.
🌾 బంజారా సంస్కృతికి ప్రతీక తీజ్
తీజ్ పండుగ బంజారా, లంబాడీ సమాజాల ఆచారాలు, సంప్రదాయాలు, సంస్కృతికి ప్రతీకగా నిలుస్తోంది. తెలంగాణలోని బంజారా తండాల్లో శ్రావణ మాసంలో ఈ పండుగను ప్రత్యేక భక్తిశ్రద్ధలతో నిర్వహిస్తారు. సాధారణంగా తొమ్మిది రోజుల పాటు జరిగే ఈ వేడుకల్లో మహిళలు, ముఖ్యంగా యువతులు ప్రత్యేక పూజలు, సంప్రదాయ పాటలు, నృత్యాలతో పాల్గొంటారు.
తీజ్ సందర్భంగా బుట్టల్లో గోధుమ విత్తనాలు నాటి మొలకలు పెంచడం ప్రధాన సంప్రదాయాల్లో ఒకటి. తొమ్మిది రోజుల పాటు వాటికి నీరు పోస్తూ పూజలు నిర్వహిస్తారు. పచ్చగా, ఆరోగ్యంగా పెరిగే గోధుమ మొలకలను సమృద్ధి, మంచి పంట, శుభానికి సంకేతంగా భావిస్తారు. చివరి రోజున ప్రత్యేక కార్యక్రమాలు నిర్వహించి తీజ్ బుట్టలను ఊరేగింపుగా తీసుకెళ్లి నీటిలో నిమజ్జనం చేయడం ఆనవాయితీగా ఉంది.

💃 పాటలు, నృత్యాలతో సందడిగా వేడుకలు
తీజ్ పండుగలో బంజారా మహిళలు తమ సంప్రదాయ దుస్తులు, ఆభరణాలు ధరించి జానపద పాటలు పాడుతూ, సంప్రదాయ నృత్యాలు చేస్తూ పండుగను వైభవంగా జరుపుకుంటారు. ఈ వేడుకలు ఒకవైపు బంజారా సమాజంలో ఐక్యతను పెంపొందిస్తూనే, మరోవైపు తరతరాలుగా వస్తున్న సంస్కృతి, ఆచారాలను భవిష్యత్ తరాలకు పరిచయం చేసే వేదికగా నిలుస్తున్నాయి.
బంజారా సమాజంలో తీజ్ కేవలం ఒక పండుగ మాత్రమే కాకుండా ప్రకృతి, వ్యవసాయం, కుటుంబ సంక్షేమం, సామాజిక ఐక్యతతో ముడిపడిన సాంస్కృతిక వేడుకగా ప్రత్యేక ప్రాధాన్యతను కలిగి ఉంది. బంజారా సంస్కృతిలో సేవాలాల్ మహారాజ్ వంటి ఆధ్యాత్మిక సంప్రదాయాలకు కూడా ప్రత్యేక స్థానం ఉంది.

Yellareddy, August 29, 2026: Preparations are underway for grand Teej festival celebrations, a significant cultural festival of the Banjara community, across the Yellareddy constituency. Yellareddy MLA Shri Madan Mohan is scheduled to participate in the celebrations.
On Sunday, August 30, from 11:00 AM, MLA Madan Mohan will participate in the Teej festival celebrations at the Banjara Function Hall in Yellareddy town. Later, he will also participate in the Teej celebrations in Lingampet town and join members of the Banjara community, women and youth in the festivities.
🌾 Teej: A Symbol of Banjara Culture
Teej represents the customs, traditions and cultural heritage of the Banjara and Lambadi communities. In Banjara thandas across Telangana, the festival is observed with devotion during the Shravan month. The celebrations generally continue for nine days, with women, especially young women, participating in special prayers, traditional songs and dances.
One of the major traditions associated with Teej is sowing wheat seeds in baskets and nurturing the sprouts. The sprouts are watered and worshipped for nine days. Healthy green wheat sprouts are regarded as a symbol of prosperity, a good harvest and auspiciousness. On the final day, special rituals are held, followed by a procession and immersion of the Teej baskets in water.
🌾 Significance of Teej: For the Banjara community, Teej is more than a festival. It is a cultural celebration connected with nature, agriculture, family welfare and social unity.
💃 Celebrations Filled With Songs and Dance
During Teej, Banjara women wear traditional clothing and jewellery, sing folk songs and perform traditional dances. The celebrations strengthen unity within the Banjara community while also providing a platform to pass its cultural traditions and customs on to future generations.
Teej holds a special place in Banjara culture as a celebration associated with nature, agriculture, family welfare and social unity. Spiritual traditions associated with figures such as Sevalal Maharaj also hold an important place in Banjara culture.
📢 MLA’s Visit and Appeal to Congress Cadres
In view of MLA Madan Mohan’s visit, Congress cadres have appealed to Yellareddy and Lingampet mandal presidents, elected representatives, senior leaders, workers, supporters, members of the Banjara community and the public to participate in large numbers and make the Teej festival celebrations successful.
